Glazed Apple Slices...A Fine Side Dish For Pork, Beef Or Poultry

Apples are very versatile. They can be cooked in as many ways as your imagination can wander...one of these ways is to easily glaze them with a mixture of butter, brown sugar, and enough water to cover them.

All you have to do is to core, peel and cut them into medium thickness wedges, boil them in enough water to cover them.
You will need:
-  4 to 5 Granny Smith apples.
-  2 Tbsp. brown sugar.
-  Water to just cover them in a stick proof pan.
-  50 gr of good quality fresh butter.
-  ½ Tbsp. Cinnamon.
-  1 tsp. mace.
-  ¼ tsp. powdered cloves.
-  ½ Tbsp. ginger powder.
Method:
-  Combine all the above and bring to a boil on high heat.
-  Keep boiling until all the water evaporates and the apples are tender.
-  Lower heat and move apple wedges around to glaze evenly.
-  Continue moving the apples around till you get that dark, caramel color. Turn off heat and serve.
Enjoy,
Stelio
