Sauce No.7 For Pasta: Ham Or Bacon/Baby Sweet Peas/Cream

As you may have noticed by now that you can make a sauce for pasta with almost anything you have in the fridge. So if you have smoked bacon or ham (which ever you prefer)it will do the job quite well and impress your guests.
You will need:
Serves 4:
- 500 gms of Penne. Count 100 gms of pasta per person. Count 1 liter of water per 100 gms of pasta to boil the past.
- 200 gms of thinly sliced smoked bacon or ham cut very small.
- 100 gns of baby peas.
- 330 ml of full heavy cream.
- 10 gms of fresh butter.
- Freshly grated hard cheese or Permezan.
- Salt, pepper and a pinch of freshly ground nutmeg.
Method:
- Melt the butter in a sauce pan.
- Throw in the thinly cut bacon or ham and stir slightly till slightly brown.
- Add the baby peas and mix well.
- Add the cream and stir.
- Add salt and pepper to taste and the pinch of freshly grated nutmeg.
- Simmer till the cream is well mixed with the bacon or the ham and the peas.
- Serve hot sprinkled with the grated hard cheese or parmezan.
N.B. The secret in this recipe is not to add any garlic or onion at all. Let the smoky flavor explode in your mouth.
Et voila!
Enjoy!
